Uploading files to from anywhere in Windows

You can upload files from anywhere in Windows by selecting Deva xFTP's Upload options from Window's context menu (usually a right-click).

To upload files in Windows

  1. Right-click the file you want to upload to a server in the Windows and select Upload using Deva xFTP > Connection wizard from the shortcut menu. The Deva xFTP Connection Wizard opens.

 

 

  1. Enter a name for your site in the Site Name field. You can enter any name: this is just to help you remember the site.

  2. Enter the IP address of the host or the FTP URL provided to you by the administrator of the site you want to connect to in the Host Address field. For example, 70.84.59.148 or ftp.example.com.

  3. Click Next.

 

 

  1. Enter the user name given to you by your hosting provider in the User Name field.

  2. Enter the password given to you by you by your hosting provider in the Password field.

  3. Select a login method from the following options.

  1. Click Next. The Connecting to Site message box opens.

 

 

  1. Click Cancel to cancel the connection or change the host address.

  2. If the host address is not correct, the error message The host validation failed. Check that the username and password are correct is displayed.

 

 

  1. Browse for the default folder from where you want to upload the file to the server or where you want to download the file from the server in the Default Local Folder field.

  2. Enter the path of the remote folder where you want to upload the file in the Default Remote Folder field.

  3. Click Next.

 

 

  1. Click Finish. Cute FTP connects to the site and saves the site in the Site Manager.
